Man, 52, woman, 46, accused of cultivating cannabis in Orange

CENTRAL WEST, NSW, Australia - A middle-aged couple have been arrested in the New South Wales Central West relating to the supply and cultivation of cannabis.

Their arrest follows an investigation by officers attached to Central West Police District Proactive Crime Team, which commenced last month.

The operation, Strike Force Marunna, was established to investigate the supply and cultivation of cannabis throughout Orange and surrounding areas.

About 10:00am on Thursday, police executed a search warrant at a home on a rural property at Kinross Lane, Clifton Grove, approximately 12km north-east of Orange.

During the search, 38 cannabis plants, 928g of cannabis leaf, 42g of cannabis seed and approximately 2kgs of cannabis oil were discovered and seized.

Police allege the drugs have a combined potential street value of $75,000.

A woman, aged 46, was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station where she was charged.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 52-year-old man at Orange Police Station.

The pair were granted conditional bail to appear before Orange Local Court on Monday 22 February 2021.
