KATOOMBA, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia - Police in the Blue Mountains have ended their search for a 54-year old woman who had been missing from Blackheath since Monday.
"Blue Mountains Police Area Command wish to advise members of the community, and in particular in the Blackheath area, that the police operation to locate Megan Cliff has been completed following the location of a body in the Blackheath area this afternoon," a police statement issued Tuesday night said.
"A report will be prepared for the Coroner and police believe that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the matter."
"Family members have been spoken to and supported by local police and have been asked on behalf of the family to say "thank you" for the support they have received. The family has also requested privacy in this most difficult of times," the Blue Mountains police statement said.
"With regard to the family and close friends of Megan, it is requested that any comments on social media be respectful and considerate."
Separately, a 26-year old woman who went missing in the Blue Mountains on Friday was found safe on Tuesday. "Inquiries were initiated when she was last seen in Penrith on Friday," a Blue Mountains police statement issued Tuesday afternoon said.
"Police thank the community and the media for their assistance," the statement added.
