Night of mayhem in Bathurst: stabbing, vehicle thefts, assaults

BATHURST, Central West, NSW, Australia - Four people have been arrested following an alleged crime spree spanning several hours, during late Tuesday night, and the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The spree began at 10.15pm Tuesday night when a 35-year-old man was allegedly stabbed, and his car stolen, during an aggravated break, enter and steal in Macquarie Street, West Bathurst. The man suffered two stab wounds to the leg and was taken to Bathurst Health Service in a stable condition.

Then at 12:20am on Wednesday morning a 52-year-old man who was asleep in his car in Stephens Lane was allegedly assaulted and robbed. He was treated at the scene by New South Wales Ambulance paramedics

Just before 1:00am, the car that was stolen during the 10:15pm attack on Tuesday night was destroyed by fire in Limekilns Road, Forest Grove.

Then at 2:30am on Wednesday morning a samurai sword was thrown through the passenger side window of a vehicle travelling along Lambert Street, Bathurst. The car was damaged but there were no injuries

About 5:55am, a motorcycle was reported stolen during an aggravated break and enter in Moresby Way, West Bathurst.

Police have confirmed four people have been arrested however no further details have been made available at this time.
