Former Move FM breakfast host and Lithgow resident, Jordan Shanks of FriendlyJordies fame is involved in a stand-off with New South Wales Deputy Premier John Barilaro.

The deputy premier has given FriendlyJordies 14 days to take down videos he has posted which Mr Barilaro says amount to an "indefensibly racist" campaign against him, failing which he will launch a defamation lawsuit in the Federal Court.

In a legal letter sent to Mr Shanks, Mr Barilaro alleges the comedian has portrayed him as corrupt.

He described the content on the videos as "vile and racist attacks," and says they were "beneath contempt."

The deputy premier has engaged defamation lawyer Paul Svilans of Mark O'Brien Legal to represent him.

FriendlyJordies has responded to the letter by re-posting the videos referred to, and has posted a new video of 44 minutes duration in which he sends up Mr Barilaro again, and criticises the legal letter, and the lawyer who sent it.

In an exclusive report on the matter, to be published in The Saturday Telegraph, Jordan Shanks 'recently released a video of himself storming a stage dressed as Luigi and speaking with an Italian accent as Mr Barilaro addressed a branch of the Nationals.'

'Mr Barilaro appears to calmly sip a schooner while Mr Shanks is dragged off stage by a man in a puffer vest and moleskins.'

The Saturday Telegraph says it understands Sue Crysanthou SC, who is representing Attorney-General Christian Porter in his unrelated lawsuit against the ABC, is being briefed as the barrister for Mr. Barilaro.
